Write a precise purpose statement

List the host company, city, dates and activity: meeting, negotiation, sourcing, factory visit, exhibition, training or employment. That distinction changes which official guidance applies.

Short business visits may be within a visa-free purpose for eligible ordinary-passport holders, but employment and activities requiring prior approval need the appropriate authorization.

Build the document pack

Keep host contact details, invitation or event registration, hotel, return or onward transport, and a concise schedule available offline. If a visa is required, follow the responsible processing mission rather than a generic checklist.
